Çorlu is the largest district of Tekirdağ. Çorlu is the second largest settlement in Turkish Thrace (Eastern Thrace) after Istanbul.
Çorlu, which is 38 km away from the center of Tekirdağ, is located in the Ergene basin, in the middle of Thrace, on a flat area above the plateau surface. Çorlu, which is the largest district of Tekirdağ with its favorable natural structure, strong transportation connections, important industry, job opportunities and strategic importance, is also one of the most developed districts of Turkey. It is surrounded by Tekirdağ's Ergene and Çerkezköy districts to the north, Istanbul's Silivri district to the east, Süleymanpaşa and Muratlı districts to the west, Marmaraereğlisi district and the Marmara Sea to the south. The district's surface area is 531 km². The city's population is 284,907 as of 2021.
